Welcome
Welcome to the website of 1015 (Horsham) Squadron, a Royal Air Force Air Cadet Squadron in the heart of Sussex. We have a dedicated team of commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and Civilian Instructors with a wealth of qualifications which allows us to run many kinds of activities for our cadets – why not make the most of it!
The Air Cadets provides young men and women with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of challenging and exciting activities that will help develop skills for life, in any walk of life. As part of a national youth organisation with over 1,000 squadrons, 30,000 cadets and 10,000 staff, the Air Cadets can provide experiences you won’t get anywhere else, from flying, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, and target shooting, to sports and academic qualifications such as BTECs in Aviation Studies.
All of the activities we offer use the appropriate staff and most are at very low (or no) cost to the cadet. We are funded by the RAF and MoD to enable us to offer flying and gliding, which includes solo & pilot development schemes, week 'camps' to active RAF Stations here, and overseas! However, the most important things a cadet will gain are life skills - leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, public speaking and perhaps most importantly integrity and self-discipline.
We hope that you take the time to have a look around the website and that it answers any questions you may have about life as an air cadet. Please use the ‘Contact Us’ page to get in touch and to find out about how to get involved at 1015 Squadron, and we will be more than happy to answer any additional questions.
There’s a lot to try, people to meet, adventures to be had and lifelong friends to make, so we look forward to seeing you soon!
